Flash! Newest Kindle commercial (in the park)
As you may know, I’m not crazy about the “hee, hee, hee, I can read and you can’t” Kindle by the pool ad.
I like this one, though…simple and to the point.
You can also see all the Kindle ads here:

Actually, I thought the pool ad was a hundred times better than the weird fantasy ad that had the woman diving under paper water and reading her Kindle beneath the sea. I’m surprised some nutjob didn’t take that as a license to go swimming with his Kindle!

Thanks for writing, ArtWench!
It’s possible somebody did go swimming with a Kindle…but that would be someone who made a lot of mistakes in life.
I enjoyed the fantasy ad, although there were some elements of it I didn’t like…shooting an animal and filling the screen with fantasy blood is not my fantasy.
I didn’t like the pool ad because I don’t like negative advertising, generally. Don’t tell me what the other company does poorly, show me what your company does well. The Kindle owner in that ad also seems so happy that the other person is having a problem…not my attitude, usually. There is no question that we are shown the iPad user’s dismay (particularly in the shot where we see the reflected face). That would make me sad, not giddy…and that means I don’t empathize with the Kindle owner.
