Oh, thanks a lot, ANOTHER book to buy and read! (Just kidding!) Seriously, thanks for the heads up, Doc Savage was a favorite of my boyhood, it'll be interesting to read this newer release, and perhaps track down some of the oldies. You are a valuable resource to me and many others, Bufo. (Off topic aside) I enjoyed your little story about a trip to the bookstore, and I was impressed again with your tact and patience when a reader scolded you for a grammatical discrepancy. You are one of the most civil and courteous people I have encountered on the internet. Nice job!

Thanks for writing, Jj!

Good point! The original pulps aren't available legally in e-book form, I believe.

This has the right order, I think:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doc_Savage_novels

If reading them in paper, I would read them in order. I would start with the first one, Man of Bronze, and read the second one, Land of Terror. Those two together establish an important point that affects the rest of the books.

However, I do think it would be okay to start with any of the ones authored by Lester Dent. :) That would get somebody right into the main feel, without worrying about Doc before and after that big event.

The current company doing reprints is Nostalgia Ventures. This is their dual edition of the first two books...if you read paper, I'd start with that:
