It’s ILMK’s third birthday!
The first post in this blog was published on August 28th, 2009.
It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and I’ve really enjoyed writing for you and all the great exchanges I’ve had with the commenters!
I thought you might be interested in some statistics, but before I do, I want to especially thank those of you who subscribe through the Kindle store. Even though it’s only ninety-nine cents a month, it’s the combined royalties from those subscriptions that really make it possible for me to devote the time and energy to writing ILMK. Certainly, it’s a lot of fun and rewarding in other ways, but it would be harder to justify devoting this big a chunk of my life to it if it wasn’t providing for my family (which comes first for me) in some way.
For those of you who don’t subscribe, you’re still absolutely welcome! I don’t expect everybody to subscribe through the Kindle store…certainly, some of you can’t for various reasons (like being outside the USA and the UK, or having an app, rather than a hardware Kindle, that doesn’t support Kindle store blog subscriptions). I feel especially gratified when someone takes the time to comment and tell me that something I wrote helped them, or amused them, or that they respectfully disagreed with it.
If you click on a link here, or retweet, or mention the blog, thank you.
If you just read the blog and it makes your world brighter in some way, you don’t need to tell me or anybody else about it…just the sense that it happens makes me a happier person.
To thank you all, I’m giving away

Happy Birthday ILMK! Great Work Bufo. I apparently talk too much having ended up 3rd after you in frequent commenting!
Great representation of countries, I think you might top the Olympics in numbers of countries mentioned.
I have learned so many things I wouldn’t know about my Kindles, especially the Fire, if it weren’t for you!

Thanks for writing, Zebras!
Talking a lot doesn’t automatically equate to talking too much.
I suppose some would argue that there are people who speak very little, and still say too much…
Thanks for the kind words! Definitely don’t cut back on the comments! That’s part of what makes ILMK successful, I think. I am genuinely interested in what others have to say, and I think sharing that helps make ILMK more interesting to others as well.

Happy Birthday and congratulations! To paraphrase ZZTop, You’re bad, you’re worldwide! Thanks again for being very helpful, informative and entertaining. Keep on keepin’ on.

Thanks for writing, Joe!
Thanks for the kind words! You can spin a guitar for me.

Fantastic milestone, Bufo. I’ve been reading this just about every day on-line. During my work day, I take a short break and read my favorite Kindle blogs, yours included. AND, I have read many of youir comments on the Kindle Forum (but I haven’t really looked at that for quite some time now- just moving onto oither areas of interest.)
Keep up the VERY good work.

Thanks for writing, Rick!
I appreciate your comments on the blog, and I’m glad you are here representing those online readers.

Congrats on three years Bufo! I came here after becoming frustrated with the oversaturation of advertising and promotion at another Kindle blog, and am very happy you’re still ad-free and all about the content. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for writing, Dave!
Thanks! I like not selling advertising…I do think it helps readers believe in the integrity of what I say in the blog. I can see situations where I might have to do that…if my Significant Other was out of a job, for example. If I were to charge, say, $25 for a 1-day two or three line ad, that could be a significant bumper…in a thirty day month, that’s $750 (before taxes).
If the other income from the blog and my other writing dropped off drastically, it might become a choice of that or curtailing ILMK.
As you can tell, though, my preference is to keep things pretty much the way they are.

Amazon ought to hire you as their Designated Backseat Driver.
(Then I’ll climb into the rumble seat and add my own two cents.)
But Corporate America is no more likely to do that than to hire court jesters.
(Which it also ought to do.)

Hey, Bufo. I’ve been enjoying and benefitting from your fabulous blog via email subscription for free for around a year or so, and was inspired to subscribe to it on my Kindle Fire after reading this one. It’s a great value and you deserve my 99 cents a month. But here’s the thing I need to know: on the list of Kindles that are compatible with your blog, the Kindle Fire isn’t one of them. Is the list wrong? Or can I subscribe and get them delivered to my Fire?
Thanks for all the wonderful posts I’ve enjoyed for free, here’s hoping I can get them on my Fire soon.

Thanks for writing, Dean!
Unfortunately, Amazon has not enabled Kindle store blog subscriptions to go to the Fire. I really appreciate your desire to support my work, but with only a Fire, you can’t do it by subscribing through the Kindle store.
You can, though, get ILMK there…for free. I guess you are already doing that via e-mail, but you can also do it through the Pulse app, if you prefer.
Here’s how (from my book on the Kindle Fire):
Go to your homescreen and tap the Pulse app (you’ll probably see it on your Favorites shelves) or open it from the Apps tab
Click the menu icon (the horizontal lines in a box) at the bottom of the screen
Choose Manage Sources
Tap the blue bar with the plus on it
Tap the Search magnifying glass at the top of the screen
Tap the Search box and type ILMK
Tap the magnifying glass
It should find I Love My Kindle at http://ilmk.worpdress.com/feed/. Tap the blue plus box at the end of that line. It will say “Added”
Tap the back arrow…you can drag it to the top of your feeds, if you want, or wherever you want it to be

Thanks. I should have waited before sending the duplicate comment. I’m disappointed I can’t subscribe via my Fire. But will add it to my pulse app and continue getting it through my email.
