Jeff Bezos’s mission: Compelling small publishers to think big
Interesting article! Read it to see Jeff’s comments on the iPad, Amazon’s strategies, and the market shift from traditional publishers.

Thanks for posting this. As a point of information the title (not your problem) is misleading — there is little or nothing in the article about “small publishers”. Nevertheless, an interesting partial look between the ears of Jeff Bezos — wish there was more of it.

Thanks for writing, Edward!
I agree! That’s the interesting thing for me in publishing. It’s the decentralization…instead of six companies with the vast majority of sales, make it six thousand, even though those six will still have the lion’s share.
That’s part of what Jeff Bezos is encouraging…and the lions understandably don’t like their zebra being taken away. 😉 Well, that’s not quite right: there was one zebra, and the lions had it. Now, there are two zebras: the lions have theirs, and everybody else has another one (that wasn’t there before). But the lions still aren’t going to like that.
