Flash! Pre-order links for the new Kindles!
Heya, heya, step right up! Pre-order the new Kindles!
Kindle 6″ wi-fi only $139
Seriously, this seems like as big a change as the K2 was over the K1!
Which one to get?
The 3G means you can get books pretty much where a cell phone would work…in a car, in the park, and so on. Wi-Fi only needs a wi-fi location…like a Starbucks. Wi-Fi only is cheaper, but not as flexible for reception.
Be the first on your block! 😉

While it is only $50 I guess (how nice is that!) and I do plan to keep my DX I chose the wifi K3.
My thought process is since DX has 3g, I thought I would use that for my Newspapers, Magazines. Then mainly use the wifi K3 for running around and keeping my books. I liked the increased the memory size to the same as the DX so they can match up nicely.
Good Job Amazon!

Thanks for writing, Tom!
I can see that…you could load up the wi-fi only before you head out for the day…

Wow…I’ve had a K2 since Christmas and this makes me want a new one. But if I had just bought a K2 last week with the price drop, I’d be a bit cheesed off right now. Doesn’t really seem fair.

Thanks for writing, Dave!
While I haven’t seen it announced yet (but I’ve been busy this morning), Amazon normally allows an option of some sort if you are within thirty days of your purchase. It makes sense: otherwise, you can just return it (in like new) and order the new model. I’m guessing people will be given an option, or just sent the new one.
