Fintie covers

Fintie covers

Covers for Kindles can be expensive.

I do like my Origami cover, but $50 was a lot for it.

Well, we’ve recently been buying some covers from another brand…Fintie.

We’ve bought them both for Kindle Paperwhites and for Fires.

The price?

As low as $5.99 from what I’ve seen, and under $20!

Another nice thing?

You get your choice of colors…a lot of colors (and patterns). My Significant Other has one in “Giraffe Purple”. Not every color/pattern is available for every device, but still, there’s quite a bit of flexibility here.

They also have (at least the ones we’ve gotten) the autowake/autosleep feature. That’s so nice! It means that you just open the cover to wake up your device, and close it to put it to sleep. You don’t have to worry about where the power button is. That doesn’t seem like a big deal, but since the Kindle Fire, for one, can autorotate, it can be confusing.

Check them out:

Definitely worth considering for a gift for the holidays! Of course, you could get one just for fun for yourself…your Kindle deserves a new outfit, right? 😉

* I am linking to the same thing at the regular Amazon site, and at AmazonSmile. When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. I recently polled my readers about my linking to AmazonSmile, and while more than two-thirds of the respondents said they would like it or didn’t mind (and about 15% didn’t know), there were enough people who wouldn’t like it that I’m not going to just jump into it and do it for everything. I’m going to try doing both links in this post, and see how hard and/or confusing that is for people. You can let me know how you feel about having both links by commenting on this post.

haven’t bought a fintie cover, but i am liking the amazon smile. i actually shop a lot at amazon – small rural town, so i even buy a fair amount of groceries at amazon. so far, i’ve found a lot of items eligible for the smile donations. maybe not every kindle book is, but lots of other things are.

I like the high end expensive covers for my devices. I see the appeal of the inexpensive but for me, as a deprived kid who can now afford the best I like real leather and handcrafted items. For years I bought Kindle Covers by Oberon Design(about $70),made to order, wonderful, beautiful leather folio covers- a joy to look at, hold, use, and smell. And lasts a lifetime and gets better with age. Before that I had a Coles and Hann case($120) for my K2,which I loved. I don’t like the fake leather. It smells and feels bad. For my iPhone 4 and iPod and iPad I got the Piel Frama cases, about $100, and for my iPad 4 the hand made in Italy, takes 6 weeks to get Padova for $250, and for my iPhone 5 Orbino’s georgous case for $200. Every time I use them i appreciate beauty, the feel the functionality of the cases. They bring me such pleasure it’s worth the money. It may be wretched excess, but life is short and I’m finally buying the really nice things. I’m not willing to spend $700 for the Orbino in gator or ostrich skin or snake or the beautiful handmade iPad gator case made in Florence for $1500 but these items I do have are more than worth it to me. But I gave up my beloved Oberons when I got the smart case for the paperwhite. That is so much more functional, smaller, quicker to use, lighter, easier that I stuck with that through both versions of the PW. But I wish I had kept one of my Oberons to look at and caress from time to time. Check em out-oberon design.com. They have many products besides cases,e.g.,journal covers, handbags, checkbooks. many designs and colors, all and made to order. and high resale value online at ebay. sold my old ones for $50 apiece. so that’s my 2 cents.

      Thanks for writing, Alan!

I recall people paying $300 for some Oberon covers, and certainly, I’ve heard good things about them from users.

We don’t use leather in our family, so those weren’t even a consideration for us.
