Kindle Fires on sale (again)
Did you think big sales on the Kindle Fires were going to be over after the holiday season?
Well, this isn’t even the first one since then, but you can certainly save money on them:
- Kindle Fire HDX 7″ (at AmazonSmile: benefit a non-profit of your choice by shopping*): $30 off, making it $199 (instead of $229)
- Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ (at AmazonSmile) $40 off, making it $339 (instead of $379)
- Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ (at AmazonSmile) $40 off, making it $189 (instead of $229)
The first model there (the KFHDX7) is the one I use, but I’m particularly impressed with the price on the last one…I had one of those, before it was stolen in a home break-in. It has the HDMI out on it, which many people miss on the newer generations (although I like the new gen better).
Now, those are all different devices…you can’t do a direct comparison.
One of the arguments in favor of non-Fire Kindles, though, was that they were less expensive than having a tablet. While that’s true for the cheapest as both, you can see that isn’t as clear a statement as it used to be.
This is for a limited time (they don’t say how long), and sure, it’s possible they’ll do more sales (maybe Valentine’s Day is next?). It’s a good deal right now, though. 🙂
Check the price before you buy: it may be different in your country, and we don’t know when it will go up again.

* I am linking to the same thing at the regular Amazon site, and at AmazonSmile. When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. It will feel just like shopping at Amazon: you’ll be using your same account. The one thing for you that is different is that you pick a non-profit the first time you go (which you can change whenever you want)…and the good feeling you’ll get. Shop ’til you help!
