* I am linking to the same thing at the regular Amazon site, and at AmazonSmile. When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. It will feel just like shopping at Amazon: you’ll be using your same account. The one thing for you that is different is that you pick a non-profit the first time you go (which you can change whenever you want)…and the good feeling you’ll get. :) Shop ’til you help! :)

After sticking it out for a full year + of (mostly) the birthday posts, I was really hoping you would revert back to writing more original posts as the blog originally had been. I looked forward to getting those delivered to my kindle daily-the bday lists, not so much and now they’re repeating for another year with limited original writing still showing up. I know these bday lists took time and energy to curate and many folks enjoy them, but, even as a librarian, I didn’t/don’t find them particularly inspiring or interesting. I know 99 cents/mth isn’t a tremendous amount (although many full length mags with original monthly content can be had for $5/yr) but I am seriously comsidering ending my blog subscription after years of receiving it.

      Thanks for writing, Njnlucas!

      I really appreciate your honesty!

I would love to get back to writing an average of 1,000 words a day, as I did many years ago. We’ve had major lifestyle changes, and things won’t settle down again for at least a few months.

However, I do really intend to be writing at least one longer post a week, and it may be more. I’ll have to say…averaging a thousand words a week of new writing. That’s obviously very different from a thousand words a day! I wouldn’t blame anybody for stopping subscribing: the blog isn’t what it was when some people subscribed. Paying for a blog is something very few people do, and the birthday posts may not justify that special relationship for some people.

If you do stop paying for a subscription, I hope you do still get to see the posts…and if I can get back to writing more, you’ll see it. 🙂 I intend to get something longer written this weekend…probably a round up. Whether it’s my blog or something else, happy reading!
