Some Kindle models available above come both with and without Special Offers. The ones with Special Offers have a lower purchase price. There is only one product: you select whether you want Special Offers or not by clicking on an option box under the price at the top of the page.
Some of these models may only be available for pre-order, but all are available to be purchased new from Amazon at the time of writing.
The tablets have other configuration choices, including memory size and different types of wireless connection and carriers.
Amazon now has
They will be less expensive than the same models sold new, have the same warranty, and are certified to work and look like new.
Want to give someone the gift of content? You can do that with e-books (you’ll see the option on the Amazon product page, but you may want to give them
They can not be used for subscription items (magazines, newspapers, blogs), but can be used for music, videos, and apps.
Other Amazon media devices
As Amazon has diversified, I find that my readers have interest in these other types of devices as well. I have written about all of the below:
- Amazon Fire TV (at AmazonSmile: benefit a non-profit of your choice by shopping*)
- Fire TV Stick (at AmazonSmile: benefit a non-profit of your choice by shopping*)
- Amazon Fire Phone (at AmazonSmile: benefit a non-profit of your choice by shopping*)
- Amazon Echo (not yet available for general purchase)
* I am linking to the same thing at the regular Amazon site, and at AmazonSmile. When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. It will feel just like shopping at Amazon: you’ll be using your same account. The one thing for you that is different is that you pick a non-profit the first time you go (which you can change whenever you want)…and the good feeling you’ll get. Shop ’til you help!
