When you shop at AmazonSmile, half a percent of your purchase price on eligible items goes to a non-profit you choose. It will feel just like shopping at Amazon: you’ll be using your same account. The one thing for you that is different is that you pick a non-profit the first time you go (which you can change whenever you want)…and the good feeling you’ll get. :) Shop ’til you help! :)

“We’re sorry to inform you there is a delay…”

“We’re sorry to inform you there is a delay…”

Update: as June 23rd, the general public can now pre-order Amazon Echo (at AmazonSmile: benefit a non-profit of your choice by shopping*) with an “in stock” date of July 14th.

Regret

In case you’ve ever wondered if I get special privileges from Amazon for being a blogger, here is evidence that I don’t. 😉

My Echo was supposed to get here by 8:00 PM today, but it’s been delayed…for months.

If this stays accurate, it will literally have been more than six months between placing the order and getting the device…but gee, it will be able to do a whole lot more. 🙂

I plan to do another post today, but I’m guessing some people have been anxiously awaiting my first experiences with the Echo and were counting on my estimated delivery date…
